Merle,
I just wanted to take a few minutes and tell you what Crossfit Relentless has done for and meant to me.
When I first heard about CFR I came with a friend, a very in shape friend, and tried a WOD. I thought I was going to die right there under the rings on your concrete floor. I could not even finish the workout! I was embarassed and thought, "Man, I will never be able to do these workouts, they are too intense for a guy like me!' So, I went back to my loal globogym and focused on how much I could bench, shrug, curl and press. You know what I mean, the important beach muscle workout! I had this feeling inside that I could do the CFR workouts and I wanted to. I knew if I got myself in great shape I could come down and be a part of this amazing box. Well, I worked and thought and read the blogs everyday with a desire to join. When we spoke about my plan you so eloquently said, "Rob, shit or get off the pot!"
Fast forward about 2 1/2 months to now. After your "pep talk" I came down and joined. Life changed fast! I found myself surrounded by people who were elite atheletes, old atheletes trying to get back in shape, people who never saw the inside of a gym, soccer moms, friends and the list goes on. What a great mix of all walks of life. Our similarity...the desire to better and push ourselves in an intense, competitive, support driven and totally new way. I know Brenda mentioned this the other day but the support, understanding and help provided at CFR is my secret ingredient to success. I could not imagine being where I am now, still a long way to go but getting there, without the help of Merle, Tony, Glenn, Joe and all my 5 or 6 o'clock CFR warriors.
Thank you for pushing me over the edge of joining and thank you all for pulling, catching and dragging me along this journey! I look forward to the days of burpees, thrusters, lwalking lunges, wallballs, eventual muscle ups and anything else that gets my heart beating and the sweat pouring.
