growing stronger

Our CrossFit kids have been in our system for a couple of months now and it's starting to show. They are getting stronger and more importantly they are demonstrating control of movements and ability to follow direction. With their increased capacity we are slowly giving them more difficult skills and where appropriate a little extra weight in the exercises. Our kids safety and health are our first concern when designing our program and rest assured we would not allow them to do anything that is not in their ability to do. Today, after months of practice, we allowed some of our kids to press overhead with a 15lb bar or 3 lb dumbells depending on the child and his/her ability. In addition the the obvious strength benefits that come from this I think it also gives our kids an extra measure of confidence and sense of accomplishment. I think it also engages them just a little bit more because they can see that when they pay attention and demonstrate increased ability that they can advance to more complicated exercises and be trusted with more weight. Nice work CrossFit Relentless kids!
